| Event Info: | IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT To postpone an event that is almost a 100% complete in preparation is not an easy decision to make especially if it’s just a week away. But due to unexpected turn of events, the team and i found ourselves wracking our brains and deciding whether or not to grab an opportunity that was unbelievably being presented to us or let it slip out of our hands. Three weeks into the festival, based on the overwhelming number of artists, musicians, art groups & organizations who expressed their interests in participating at our much-awaited event, we realized that 2 days is not enough for us to immerse the public into the wonderful, colorful world of the arts. We also realized how much impact the festival has made in the lives of so many after more than half a decade of promoting the arts and being true in our commitment to our advocacy. We had to sacrifice a number of other mind-blowing & exciting acts, performances & activities. We just couldn’t squeeze into 2 days everything we wanted to include in the program. Until a week ago, a booking for a 3-day weekend event in July got cancelled and a slot became available. The team saw this as a good opportunity for us to add another day to the festivities and extend the celebration back into a full 3-day Feast for the Mind & Senses. This would mean more band performances, more art workshops & seminars, more art films, more cosplay, more stage plays, more poetry, more dance performances, more laser light shows, more musical clinics, more photography workshops, more tattoo shows & seminars, more digital & multimedia art, more cultural performances and definitely a whole lot more. And for our sponsors and exhibitors, since this will fall within the school calendar so this would also mean we will now be able to accommodate the participation of the schools & universities of all levels who have also expressed their interest in being part of the festival. Ergo, more visitors. In line with this, the Backdoor Ventures Team has decided to take this available July slot that the universe has blessed us with and move the 6th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL to July 13, 14 & 15, 2012. 8 more weeks to wait.
